Bryan Hughes

Bryan is a chartered accountant who has considerable business experience and expertise in acquisition due diligence and structuring and has successfully raised more than $25million in equity capital in Australia over the years. Throughout his career Bryan has gained significant know-how in providing services to clients within a diverse range of industries including mining, mining contracting, hospitality and tourism, printing, ship building, retail, manufacturing, agriculture, aquaculture, viticulture, and oil and gas.

He currently holds a managing partner position with a leading accountant group. Bryan has attended post graduate business management courses at Columbia University Executive Business School in New York. He has given numerous presentations on restructuring ASX listed companies together with presentations on formal matters pertaining to distressed businesses and insolvency. Bryan is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Institute of Credit Management.

Barry is a marketing and sales expert with more than 27 years worldwide expertise in the biotechnology, healthcare, information technology and life sciences industries. He was instrumental in raising the initial $20 million in capital for the WA Institute Medical Research and has assisted many companies become investment ready and subsequently raise more than $40 million.

Barry has acquired senior management experience with a medical device, Fortune 500 company—Johnson & Johnson Ultrasound in the USA—with responsibility for clinical education and worldwide marketing. He launched many new diagnostic medical device products into worldwide markets and clinically validated several new diagnostic techniques. He established a consultancy that successfully delivered business development and strategic marketing services (for more than 20 years in Australia) to a range of large and small companies operating in many sectors and successfully launched many new products and services to businesses and direct to consumers. He has extensive experience and expertise in relationship (database) marketing techniques that provided evidence based results. Barry is a member of the Australian Institute of Management, the AusBiotech Association and the Asia Network for Biotechnology.y
